Small Gutter Problems Become Big Home Problems
A dripping seam or a gutter that’s starting to sag might not seem urgent. But every time it rains, that water lands where it shouldn’t: on your fascia, down your siding, and against your foundation. Over time, that leads to rotted wood, stained walls, washed-out landscaping, and wet basements.
At KRC Roofing & Siding, we repair gutters for homes across Dubuque County. We don’t just patch the obvious problem. We look at why it happened, whether that’s loose fasteners, poor pitch, ice damage, or rotted wood behind the gutter, and fix the cause so the repair lasts.

Signs Your Gutters Need Repair
Leaks or drips at seams, corners, or end caps.
Sagging sections or gutters pulling away from the house.
Standing water in gutters long after it stops raining.
Overflowing in rain, even when the gutters are clean.
Rust, cracks, or holes in the gutter.
Peeling paint or water stains on fascia and siding below the gutters.
Loose or missing hangers, brackets, or spikes.
Bent or damaged sections after snow, ice, or storms.

Repair or Replace Your Gutters?
- Repair makes sense when the problems are limited to a few leaks, loose sections, or isolated damage, and the gutters are otherwise in good shape.
- Replace is usually the better investment when gutters are rusting through, leaking in many places, repeatedly sagging, undersized for your roof, or made of old sectional pieces with seams everywhere.

Gutter Repair FAQs
How much does gutter repair cost?
It depends on the type of damage, how many feet of gutter are affected, the height of your home, and whether the fascia needs repair. A resealed seam costs much less than replacing sections and rotted fascia. We’ll give you a clear estimate after inspecting your gutters.
Why are my gutters leaking?
The most common causes are failed seam sealant, loose or separated joints, holes from rust or corrosion, and water overshooting the gutter because of poor pitch or a missing drip edge.
Why is my gutter sagging?
Sagging usually comes from loose or widely spaced hangers, the weight of debris, water, or ice, or rotted fascia that can’t hold fasteners anymore. We fix the cause, not just the sag.
Can a sagging gutter be fixed, or does it need to be replaced?
Most sagging gutters can be repaired by reattaching them with new hangers, and replacing rotted fascia if needed. If the gutter itself is bent, rusted, or failing in multiple places, replacement may be the better choice.
Can you repair gutters in winter?
Many repairs can be done in winter when weather allows, especially urgent ones like a gutter that has pulled loose. Sealant-based repairs work best in dry, above-freezing conditions.
Do you repair the fascia behind the gutters?
Yes. Rotted fascia is one of the most common reasons gutters fail. We replace damaged fascia before reattaching your gutters, so the repair lasts.
How can I prevent gutter damage?
Keep gutters clean, make sure downspouts drain freely, and have your gutters checked once or twice a year. Gutter guards can also reduce clogs and the weight they cause.
